MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) – Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Yuri Gorlov held a working meeting with Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management of the Republic of Srpska (entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina) Savo Minić, who emphasized that Belarus has rich experience to learn from, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian of Agriculture and Food.
The delegation from Bosnia and Herzegovina visited the 35th international exhibition Belagro 2025 to assess the scale of development of the Belarusian agro-industrial complex. “Over the past 20 years, Belarus has achieved impressive results in agriculture. Our country demonstrates high production rates and consistently excellent quality of food products, which is facilitated by favorable natural and climatic conditions, well-developed infrastructure, and state support for the agricultural sector,” Yuri Gorlov said, highlighting the key achievements of domestic agriculture and thanking his colleagues for the visit.
It was emphasized that Belarus is ready to become a reliable partner for the Republic of Srpska in the field of agriculture. The minister expressed interest in expanding cooperation and strengthening the legal framework with this country.
According to the ministry, in 2024 trade in agricultural products between Belarus and Bosnia and Herzegovina showed a growth of 11.7% compared to the same period in 2021. Exports of Belarusian food products to this region increased fivefold.
“What I have seen is impressive and gives me confidence that our initiative will lead not only to cooperation, but also to genuine friendship. It is a tremendous foundation for developing cooperation in many areas!” Savo Minić said praising the organization of the visit and the level of the Belagro 2025 expo. “We will exchange information about our achievements in order to identify the most promising areas of cooperation. You have an excellent seed industry, advanced agricultural techniques, and high-quality farming machinery. We are ready to learn from your best practices.”
The parties agreed to begin work on a cooperation agreement in agriculture, which the parties plan to sign by the end of the summer. The document should become the basis for specific projects and long-term partnership. According to the Agriculture and Food Ministry, the visit was an important step towards establishing trust-based relations.
