Belneftekhim suspends oil pumping towards Slovakia, Hungary till 13 September

MINSK, 9 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim has suspended oil pumping via the pipeline system Druzhba towards Slovakia and Hungary till 13 September due to the need to receive oil via the Odessa-Brody pipeline, TASS quoted the Transneft Company spokesman Igor Demin as saying.

BelTA understands that Belneftekhim has suspended oil pumping towards Budkowice and Fenyeslitke. The oil pipeline system Druzhba has been switched to reverse mode due to the need to pump a batch of oil via the Odessa-Brody pipeline into Belarus.

Belneftekhim responded to a request for comments. “There is nothing extraordinary about it. Everything is routine and has been agreed within the framework of the oil pumping schedule without detriment to the pumping of the necessary volumes towards Hungary. Moreover, the technical capacity is even above the current workload. If necessary, pumping volumes can be increased to accommodate partners' requests,” a Belneftekhim representative said. Belneftekhim also clarified that the Odessa-Brody pipeline is carrying oil acquired within the framework of long-term contracts with Azerbaijani partners.
