BelGee to keep focus on electric vehicles

BORISOV DISTRICT, 27 July (BelTA) – BelGee will keep focus on electric vehicles, BelGee Director General Gennady Svidersky told the media, BelTA has leaned.

Recently the company has marketed the first batch of electric vehicles of 50 units. “It was a pilot batch. They sold out like hot cakes in all dealerships, regional cities and Minsk. Now we are watching the exploitation of these vehicles. So far the reviews have been very positive. The car is premium, buyers like it. The car is modern, with a 550km range. However, the price was not very democratic," said Gennady Svidersky.

This year BelGee intends to continue working on electric cars. "We will keep focus on electric vehicles. We held talks with JAC. In July, we will receive the first two samples. It's a city car. The batch will be 50 cars. If everything goes well, 100 cars will be delivered per month from next year. If our sales forecasts get confirmed, then we might consider setting up the production,” Gennady Svidersky noted. “The range of the electric car will be 300km. It will be slightly smaller than the hatchback, which we marketed last year. At the same time, it will be about 20% cheaper than what we previously offered to the market. After receiving the samples, we will certify them in August and in the fourth quarter we will send the cars to the dealer network."

"Electric vehicles will always be in our focus. We will look for a niche to localize this production," Gennady Svidersky emphasized.
