BelCCI's major task is to promote Belarusian products abroad

MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) - The main task of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) is to facilitate the promotion of Belarusian goods in foreign markets, BelCCI Chairman Mikhail Myatlikov told the media ahead of the 12th Congress of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 5 October, BelTA has learned.

The BelCCI congress is taking place to mark the 70th anniversary of the organization. The anniversary will be marked in December 2022. “It is not just a scheduled event but also a milestone event to mark the Chamber's major achievements over the past three years. This has not been an easy period: the pandemic, sanctions, events in Ukraine - all this has put a certain imprint on the activities of both enterprises and the Chamber. The main task of the BelCCI remains to assist in promoting Belarusian products in foreign markets and search for niches for our goods to be recognized all over the world,” Mikhail Myatlikov said.

The BelCCI head added that despite the sanctions, the country finds new markets and increases its supplies. “We do not stop working with foreign partners, including European ones. We have a number of public representatives, who represent the Chamber in European countries. They help businesses in promoting their products and protect the interests of our companies in the European market,” he said.

Over the past three years, the number of BelCCI members has increased by 777 people. Today the Chamber has a total of 2,700 members, which is up 8.5% from the previous congress. “Looking at these figures, we can feel the demand for our business. Over the past three years we have held about 1,700 events with our partners from 91 countries. New formats (distance meetings, online exhibitions) help us stay closer to partners in the far-away countries in modern conditions. According to the decision of the head of state, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is fully in charge of foreign exhibitions. We are already drawing up plans for 2023 to organize exhibitions in the far-away countries, Russia and Europe,” said Mikhail Myatlikov.

Attending the congress are delegates from 135 enterprises and organizations from all over the country. Among them are representatives of the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Industry Ministry, Economy Ministry, major enterprises of the national industry, services, education, banking structures, business unions and small business. The congress is set to take stock of the results of the BelCCI activity for the period from October 2019 to September 2022 and define promising areas of work for the chamber within the next three years.
