MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) - The interest of Belarusian business shows that Belarus-Cuba relations have great potential, Deputy Chairwoman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) Yelena Malinovskaya said at the dialogue-presentation “Cuba: Opportunities for the Development of Economic Ties Between the EAEU and Latin America and the Caribbean Region”.
Despite the geographical distance, Belarus and Cuba have long-standing friendly ties, Yelena Malinovskaya said. “We are actively developing cooperation with Latin American countries today. Last year we held the forum “Latin America: Aspects of Doing Business”, which featured about 400 participants from Belarus. At the start of this year, we held a series of meetings with Latin American ambassadors to Belarus and business representatives, including the Cuban ambassador to Belarus. The meeting was productive, and business was very active,” said Yelena Malinovskaya.

It is even more surprising to learn that the trade between Belarus and Cuba is quite modest – a little more than $10 million, the BelCCI deputy chairwoman said. “Engaged in dialogue with business, we see interest that is growing. This suggests that the potential is great, and everything is in our hands to develop it further,” she said.
