Belarusian taxpayers opt for digital communication with taxation authorities

MINSK, 23 November (BelTA) – Nearly 89% of the taxpayers opt for digital channels of communication with taxation authorities, BelTA learned from Sergei Shkut, Head of the Central Office for the Development of Tax Authorities of the Belarusian Tax and Duties Ministry, on 23 November.

According to the source, the Belarusian revenue service focuses on fiscal functions and the enabling of comfortable conditions for taxpayers. At present 88.6% of the tax payers use digital means of interaction with taxation authorities. Apart from that, 32 tax service centers have been established across the country and carry out about 2,500 tax procedures every month. The number of tax service centers is supposed to rise to 35 by the end of the year. Once it is done, their establishment in the largest population centers will be completed.

The revenue service also intends to step up awareness-raising efforts. Events targeting various categories of taxpayers are arranged. A contact center is available, with some 88,000 petitions and requests processed in January-September 2020. As many as 98.5% of the taxpayers pay their taxes voluntarily, the Tax and Duties Ministry representative added.
