IVANOVO, 17 August (BelTA) – Representatives of small and medium private businesses show interest in manufacturing cooperation with major enterprises, BelTA learned from Director General of the Belarusian Fund for Financial Support of Entrepreneurs Piotr Arushanyants.
The Belarusian Fund for Financial Support of Entrepreneurs organizes meetings of major enterprises with small and medium private ones. After finding contact points, the entrepreneurs can be included into manufacturing cooperation chains with major manufacturers. Such business matchmaking sessions are organized every two weeks and they are in demand.
Piotr Arushanyants said: “If someone finds a customer, needs new equipment, materials, and floating assets, he or she may apply to our fund for financial support. It has to be a project with development in mind. It has to create jobs. If these conditions are met, we will provide funding. Brest Oblast is one of the leaders. We work with pleasure. There are no problems with financial discipline.”
In his words, around 40% of those contacting the fund are owners of manufacturing enterprises. Civil engineering comes second. It is followed by transportation, agriculture, healthcare, and public catering. “We are looking into opportunities for advanced industry-specific cooperation. For instance, we are considering options for supporting private farmers with larger sums and lower loan interest rates. If everything works out fine, the mechanism will start working next year. But we work with private farmers even now,” Piotr Arushanyants said.
A meeting with entrepreneurs was organized in the town of Ivanovo, Brest Oblast on 17 August to discuss business development. Representatives of the Economy Ministry and other central government organizations, the Brest Oblast Executive Committee took part in it.
