MINSK, 6 July (BelTA) – According to recent data, Belarusian Railways transported almost 30 million passengers in the first half of the year, BelTA learned from the press center of Belarusian Railways.
In January-June 2021, more than 29.9 million passengers traveled by Belarusian Railways, up 3% year-on-year. Most of them (over 97.5%) used domestic routes.
Economy-class regional trains carried 24.1 million passengers, up 0.8% year-on-year. Business-class regional and suburban trains transported more than 3.5 million passengers, up 17.5% year-on-year. Over 1.5 million people used urban trains.
Since passenger traffic between Belarus and Russia was resumed in February 2021, almost 673,700 passengers traveled by international trains running between Belarus and Russia, up 38% year-on-year.
