SVETLOGORSK, 3 September (BelTA) – Digitization software needs to be deployed within the next five years. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Yuri Nazarov formulated the task during a seminar held on 3 September to discuss the digitization of industrial enterprises, BelTA has learned.
Yuri Nazarov stressed that there are no doubts about the effectiveness of digitization. But enterprises of the industries he oversees need to compare notes, update future steps and directions taking into account peculiarities. “Software products for digitizing the enterprises have to be deployed within the next five years,” the deputy prime minister noted.
The seminar took place at premises of Svetlogorsk Pulp and Board Mill. Representatives of enterprises were made familiar with steps of the process used to make bleached sulfate pulp. They also saw the SAP TOPO system at work. The system had substantively automated and optimized actions of the company's repairmen and equipment operators.
Deputy Communications and Informatization Minister Anna Ryabova informed those present about the tools meant to facilitate the digital transformation of the production sector. Chairman of the State Standardization Committee of Belarus Valentin Tataritsky shared the experience of transition from automation to digitization as part of the committee's work. Peculiarities of digitization in enterprises of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim were also mentioned.
Heads of leading Belarusian enterprises presented reports on the practical introduction of digital technologies at their enterprises. Each experience was special due to peculiarities of manufacturing processes. Reports were presented by representatives of Belorusneft, Gomeltransneft Druzhba, BelAZ, Mozyr Oil Refinery, BMZ, and other companies. A representative of OAO TsNIITU of the Belarusian Industry Ministry talked about the construction of a system for preproduction work using a digital product model.
Participants of the seminar are also expected to visit OAO SvetlogorskKhimvolokno.
