Belarusian Polotsk-Steklovolokno to invest some $56m in manufacturing development by 2030

SVETLOGORSK, 1 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian company Polotsk-Steklovolokno intends to invest about $56 million in production development by 2030. Polotsk-Steklovolokno Director General Ilya Ikan shared the plans with reporters at an offsite session of the Board of the Belarusian state petrochemical concern Belneftekhim, BelTA has learned.

The session took place in Svetlogorsk on 1 August. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Piotr Parkhomchik took part in it.

According to Ilya Ikan, Polotsk-Steklovolokno invests about $11 million every year for the sake of dynamic development of the enterprise. The company’s development program for the period till 2030 has been updated as well. “Its realization will allow making competitive products, which sell well on the home market and abroad,” the CEO said. He stressed that there are plans to invest about $56 million by 2030 to attain these goals.

At present Polotsk-Steklovolokno exported over 85% of the output. Products are shipped to 50 countries across the globe and to 220 business partners.

Polotsk-Steklovolokno is a modern industrial complex that has about 5,000 units of special equipment. The company employs about 3,100 people. The complex brings together a number of manufacturing processes starting with the preparation of raw materials and ending with the packaging of ready products. The company makes over 1,000 product titles.

Performance of Belneftekhim enterprises in January-June and prospects of realization of investment projects were discussed during the session. An exhibition reflecting the main stages of development of Belneftekhim enterprises over the course of 30 years was also organized at premises of OAO SvetlogorskKhimvolokno. The exposition also presented major investment projects and innovative goods made by the petrochemical complex.
