Belarusian PM: GDP growth in EAEU at 4.6% in H1 2024

YEREVAN, 1 October (BelTA) — The GDP of the EAEU member states increased by 4.6% in the first half of the year, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Yerevan, BelTA has learned.

Roman Golovchenko pointed out that within the EAEU, the countries successfully solve food security issues, protect the common market from unfair competition and low-quality products, expand localization of production and industrial cooperation. All this is reflected in economic results. "In the first half of the year, the GDP of the EAEU member states was up by 4.6%. The EAEU industrial output rose by 4.4%. Trade in goods is growing. Mutual supplies went up by 6.8% year-on-year, amounting to $46.8 billion," the prime minister stated.

The integration ties are gaining momentum. "This is confirmed by the increase in the share of mutual trade in the foreign trade to 17%. Last year it was 16%," Roman Golovchenko added. According to him, these figures clearly demonstrate the economic trends in the EAEU but require measures to maintain this momentum and step it up.
