Belarusian NAIP, Murmansk Region Development Corporation sign cooperation agreement

MINSK, 22 November (BelTA) – Belarus’ National Agency of Investment and Privatization (NAIP) and the Murmansk Region Development Corporation have signed a cooperation agreement, BelTA learned from NAIP.

The document was signed during a meeting of the working group on cooperation between Murmansk Oblast of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus which was held in the Minsk City Executive Committee.

The agreement makes a special emphasis on public-private partnership. The Murmansk Region Development Corporation operates the PPP Department which supports PPP projects, works out both public and private PPP initiatives and provides consultation services. Similar tasks are performed by the PPP Center, which is a structural unit of NAIP.

"Murmansk Oblast has accumulated extensive practical experience in the implementation of infrastructure projects through the PPP mechanism in various fields. Our PPP initiatives are similar with the projects already being implemented in Murmansk Oblas. Therefore, the experience of our colleagues is valuable to us," said Dmitry Krasovsky, director of NAIP.

A Belarusian delegation will soon go to Murmansk Oblast to study this experience, he said. "The goal is explore the projects being implemented: how they are structured, how the relations between public and private partners are built," Dmitry Krasovsky explained.

At the moment, Murmansk Oblast is running several PPP projects, including waste processing, construction of a water park, modernization of heat supply systems and other projects.
