Belarusian MTZ to increase sales in Pakistan

MINSK, 21 August (BelTA) – The Belarusian tractor manufacturer MTZ intends to increase the volume of sales in Pakistan, BelTA learned from MTZ First Deputy Director General Sergei Avramenko after a delegation of the Pakistani parliament visited the enterprise.

Pakistan has been a stable partner of Minsk Tractor Works (MTZ) for a long time, Sergei Avramenko noted. “Despite complications we have always planned and sold tractors to this country. In accordance with an agreement with our partners we have recently started modernizing the technical parameters to meet requirements of the end user. And in 2023-2024 we started shipping the modernized vehicles to this market,” he said.

MTZ has partners in this country and a well-developed dealership chain. The company sells about 2,000-2,500 tractors to Pakistan on the average. “Without a doubt, we intend to increase the volume. With this in mind the director general has held a number of meetings this year. Terms were agreed and an agreement on expanding the model range of tractors was signed. We will now also sell tractors with the engine power of over 100hp to Pakistan. Details are being polished now. We need to offer a very attractive price to our partners because the market is saturated. We know all the pros and cons and we are also working on increasing the volumes. We intend to increase the volume of export by about 20% in 2025,” Sergei Avramenko stressed.

A delegation of the Pakistani parliament is in Belarus upon the invitation of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus. The guests were made familiar with samples of modern MTZ products. They went on a tour of the manufacturing facilities and examined a permanent exhibition of the company’s products. Negotiations took place at the end of the trip.
