Belarusian MTZ eager to resume tractor sales on American continent

MINSK, 22 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian tractor manufacturer MTZ is interested in resuming sales of its products on markets of the American continent. MTZ Director General Vitaly Vovk mentioned it before representatives of Belarusian companies met with heads of Belarusian diplomatic missions abroad on 22 July, BelTA has learned.

The MTZ CEO said: “We are interested primarily in markets of the American continent. Naturally the markets are new for us. We used to work there in the past. Now we would like to return there. These are complicated markets. We need to create new products for them and take care of certification. The work takes time. For that we need a partner, who would see his or her own interest in our cooperation.”

Speaking about today's meeting with the ambassadors, Vitaly Vovk noted that manufacturers and embassies have to work like a team. “We would like to meet with many ambassadors, discuss cooperation prospects and the state of affairs in countries, prospects from the point of view of support for farmers. We would like to exchange opinions about future development of mutually beneficial cooperation. I am talking about shipments of machines and equipment as well as shipments of components, raw materials, and parts,” he said.

According to the MTZ CEO, the company has received various proposals from the private sector in many countries. “We would like the embassies to help us determine how serious these partners are, to check how interesting they are from the point of view of development of the country and product distribution. As for new markets, we would like the diplomats to hint who the serious players on these markets are so that we could contact them and come to terms on the representation of MTZ's interests,” Vitaly Vovk noted.
