Belarusian MAZ eager to promote products onto Armenian market

MINSK, 15 March (BelTA) – Director General of OAO MAZ, the managing company of the holding company BelavtoMAZ Valery Ivankovich and the company's Commerce Director Sergei Shulyak took part in meetings with representatives of the Armenian private sector. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Armenia Aleksandr Konyuk took part in the events, the press service of the Belarusian automobile engineering company MAZ told BelTA.

While in Armenia top MAZ managers met with ZAO RafelGrig Director General Rafael Grigoryan. The sides arranged presentations of their own enterprises and exchanged opinions about promising avenues of mutual cooperation. The promotion of MAZ buses by the Armenian company onto the Armenian market was one of the possibilities that had been mentioned.

Apart from that, the Belarusian delegation met with Arsen Abramyan, the founder of the Armenian companies Liga and Shaart. During the meeting MAZ representatives presented information about the Belarusian company and the vehicles it makes. The Armenian side was interested in modernized dump trucks, dump articulated vehicles, and passenger vehicles made by MAZ. The sides discussed prospects of cooperation in selling various buses and specialized construction vehicles to Armenia.

The intention to arrange a working trip of Armenian businessmen to Minsk was expressed at the end of the meeting.

MAZ is one of Belarus' largest mechanical engineering companies. It specializes in making heavy-duty trucks, special-purpose vehicles, buses, trolleybuses, and trailing units. MAZ is a well-known international brand. MAZ vehicles are compliant with the environmental standards Euro-5 and Euro-6. The company makes a total of over 500 models and modifications of tractor units, dropside trucks, and chassis for mounting various kinds of equipment.
