Belarusian Ivatsevichdrev to make more particleboards, furniture

IVATSEVICHI, 16 June (BelTA) – The Belarusian woodworking company Ivatsevichdrev intends to make more particleboards and furniture. The plans were discussed during a working trip of Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko to Ivatsevichi District, Brest Oblast on 16 June, BelTA has learned.

Ivatsevichdrev specializes in making particle boards. The output of particle boards in 2021 is expected to exceed the enterprise's initial designed output capacity by 45%. Most of the products are sold domestically since particleboards enjoy a strong demand among furniture producers. Ivatsevichdrev also exports particleboards. The company also uses its own particleboards to make furniture. This year's furniture output is expected to increase in comparison with 2020. “We don't stop at that. We have sufficient premises that can be used later on for furniture production,” Ivatsevichdrev Director General Aleksandr Ilnitsky said.

Roman Golovchenko was made familiar with how Ivatsevichdrev makes particleboards and furniture. The prime minister noted: “There is a very strong demand for the products. The market is expanding, the output is already insufficient although it is quite a powerful enterprise. Even with increased output figures we will be able to sell all the products inside the country. It is a bottleneck now. Today we debated how an investment project can be implemented as fast as possible and start a new manufacturing enterprise at Ivatsevichdrev premises.”

The creation of a holding company led by Ivatsevichdrev was another item on the agenda. The strategy on developing the holding company is supposed to be ready by 1 November. Roman Golovchenko noted that the managing company of the holding company will have to focus primarily on introducing modern managerial accounting methods and technologies. It will have to focus on ways to prevent its enterprises from losing money, for instance, it will have to focus on shortcomings in keeping records of materials and work with clients. The constituent enterprises will enjoy greater freedom in sales. The managing company will take care of only the centralization of the large volumes of raw materials that all the enterprises of the holding company use. Roman Golovchenko added that these approaches are open to debate for now. The development of the strategy will continue.

Ivatsevichdrev is one of the largest woodworking companies in the Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom. The company takes care of all the production cycle steps including timber harvesting, timber transportation, initial timber conversion, and the manufacturing of end products. The manufacturing process produces zero waste.

The company will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2022.
