Belarusian delegation visits Russia's Kemerovo Oblast

MOSCOW, 20 September (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation led by Belarus' Ambassador to Russia Vladimir Semashko has arrived in Kemerovo Oblast in Russia on a working visit, BelTA has learned from the press service of the Belarusian diplomatic mission.

The delegation includes officials of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry and representatives of a number of Belarusian enterprises.

The delegation had a meeting with Governor of Kemerovo Oblast Sergei Tsivilyov. “Today Kuzbass is a dynamic region with enormous industrial potential. It is open to innovation in every area. We hope that these advantages will be fully appreciated by the Belarusian enterprises and will give impetus to the development of new areas of mutually beneficial cooperation,” the governor noted.

Belarus' trade with Russia's Kemerovo Oblast amounted to $102.9 million in H1 2019, which was up 2.6 times year-on-year. Kuzbass cooperates with Belarus in coal and metallurgical industries, agricultural sector, education, culture, sport, youth policy and social affairs. A total of 2,542 BelAZ haul trucks are in use in the region.
