Belarusian companies told to request permission to postpone foreign trade deadlines in advance

MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – Commercial entities should contact the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus in advance for permissions to extend the time of completion of foreign trade operations, representatives of the State Control Committee told BelTA.

Foreign governments have taken measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection: borders have been closed, quarantine measures inside the countries have been enforced. There is a possibility that non-resident contractors may fail to execute or may execute poorly terms of their import and export contracts with Belarusian companies.

This is why Belarusian companies should contact the central bank or its regional branches in advance in order to obtain permissions to extend the time of completion of foreign trade operations instead of rushing to do it several days ahead of the deadline.

The State Control Committee reminded that Belarusian companies are supposed to complete foreign trade operations in a timely manner (within a specific timeframe).
