Belarusian companies plan to sign $2m contracts at Gulfood 2021 in Dubai

MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) – Companies affiliated with Belgospishcheprom Concern look set to sign contracts worth more than $2 million at Gulfood 2021 in Dubai, UAE, BelTA learned from the press service of the the Belarusian state food industry concern Belgospishcheprom.

“The total sum of contracts that Belgospishcheprom companies are set to conclude in Dubai will be more than $2 million," the press service said. "For example, on the first day of negotiations, Grodno Tobacco Factory Neman signed a contract for $1 million, and Belpishcheprom signed a supply contract worth $500,000."

Plans are in place to sign contracts to supply Belarusian alcoholic beverages to the countries of Africa (Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa), Oman and Iraq. "Minsk Kristall Group has expanded the ALPHA LINE vodka line-up with a new format (1 liter) and flavor options (coffee flavor) for the Middle East and Africa markets," Belgospishcheprom informed.

Belgospishcheprom displayed many new products. For example, in addition to monofloral varieties of honey, Krasny Pischevik presented whipped honey with cranberries, strawberries, blueberries, cherries, lemon, and ginger, and also honey desserts with hazelnuts, almonds, cashews, and walnuts. These products have already gained interest among expo visitors. Belarusian rapeseed oil is also in high demand.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to the United Arab Emirates Andrei Luchenok praised the potential of Belgospishcheprom products in the Middle East market.

Gulfood 2021 is the world's largest annual food and beverage trade exhibition. It is held in Dubai, the UAE on 21-25 February. Being one of the first global exhibition events in 2021, Gulfood has been delivered with strict standards of health & safety precautionary measures amid the coronavirus pandemic.
