MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) – Enterprises need to more actively master the manufacturing of new kinds of products. Belarusian Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar made the statement during a trip to Shchuchin District, Grodno Oblast, the Economy Ministry press service told BelTA.

Yuri Chebotar visited OOO Primemilk and met with the employees. The conversation focused on the status and the role of the Belarusian People’s Congress, which first session will take place next week.

The economy minister noted that the Belarusian People’s Congress had become a symbol of people’s unity and its new status contributed to a constructive dialogue of representatives of all spheres of the society. “One of the main functions of the ministry is to develop key strategic documents, which determine the social and economic development of the country. This is why we are going to actively interact with delegates of the Belarusian People’s Congress. Intensive contacts will allow taking into account interests of the maximum number of interested parties as early as the international stage,” Yuri Chebotar explained.

The economy minister also visited the Shchuchin-based factory Avtoprovod. The enterprise is actively engaged in manufacturing cooperation with industrial giants and is busy increasing the share of innovative products in the total output. “The stable portfolio of orders allows investing in modernization and development. In order to keep the current pace, the enterprise needs to master the production of new kinds of goods while focusing on import-substituting products with a high export potential. Such projects will be granted support from the state as well,” Yuri Chebotar noted.

Apart from that, the economy minister was made familiar with how OOO Logal-Agro Company is implementing an investment project as part of the “One district – one project” program. The company intends to build a new complex for making the substrate used for mushroom farming.

“Such projects allow creating new jobs in the regions and saturating the domestic market with high-quality Belarusian foods,” the minister stressed.
