MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange will cooperate with the Association of Chinese Compatriots' Organizations Huaqiao, BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.
The Association of Chinese Compatriots' Organizations Huaqiao plans to assist BUCE in expanding the circle of exchange trading participants from China and raising the awareness of Chinese business about the opportunities and advantages offered by the exchange platform. BUCE, in turn, is ready to undertake the whole range of issues related to the organization and support of export-import activities of Chinese residents in Belarus, including consulting, marketing support, search for business partners, training in the basics of exchange trading and assistance in concluding transactions. Chairman of the Huaqiao Association Wang Xiaomeng and Chairman of the BUCU Board of Directors Aleksandr Osmolovsky reached these arrangements following a meeting at the BUCE central office in Minsk.
"We are regularly approached by Chinese companies that would like to buy some goods in Belarus or, on the contrary, supply products manufactured in China. However, due to the wide range of areas within the scope of our association's activities, we do not always have enough time and resources to qualitatively handle such requests. So we will now refer them to the exchange and encourage Chinese entrepreneurs to get accredited to bid. I think that by cooperating in this format, we will not only strengthen business contacts between Belarusian and Chinese enterprises, but also contribute to the growth of mutual trade between our countries," Wang Xiaomeng said.
Chairman of the BUCE Board Aleksandr Osmolovsky emphasized the exceptional importance of the PRC market in the context of the development of cross-border exchange trading and expressed readiness to provide the Chinese business with all the necessary tools for doing business in Belarus.
"Producers of goods popular in China are represented at the exchange. These include timber companies, dairies, meat processing plants, and oil extracting factories. Thus, it is possible to start importing milk powder, semi-finished meat products or rapeseed oil from Belarus as quickly as possible. At the same time, the price formation mechanism is absolutely transparent, and the proper fulfillment of obligations under transactions is strictly controlled. In addition, we have additional risk insurance instruments, such as settlements through exchange accounts. They are available to any foreign company accredited on our trading platform," Aleksandr Osmolovsky said.
The Association of Chinese Compatriots' Organizations Huaqiao is a non-profit organization at the Chinese Embassy in Belarus. The members of the association are Chinese citizens permanently residing in Belarus and legal entities with Chinese capital.
The public joint-stock company (OAO) Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange was established in 2004. The first trade sessions took place in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its key function is to assist Belarusian companies with exporting their products and assist foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. The commodity exchange facilitates trade in metals, timber, agricultural products, and a broad choice of industrial and consumer goods.
