MINSK, 12 August (BelTA) - The Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) is prepared to support Chechnya in expanding its export potential. The matter was discussed during online negotiations between BUCE and the Chechen Republic’s export support center, BelTA learned from the BUCE press service.

The main focus of the talks was the use of BUCE’s trading mechanisms to boost bilateral trade and enhance Chechnya’s export capabilities.

According to Deputy Head of Foreign Economic Relations at BUCE German Puzyrny, currently three businesses from the Chechen Republic are registered at the exchange. Having only accredited in June 2024, they concluded deals worth $240,000 by the end of that year. In January-July 2025, trade has already surpassed $130,000. While last year’s transactions were limited to Belarusian timber exports, butter now accounts for a significant share of turnover, raising expectations for stronger annual results in 2025.

“Chechnya is a rapidly developing region with abundant resources. The current trading dynamics indicate substantial untapped potential, and our priority now is to attract new participants to BUCE to expand mutual trade. For instance, Belarus has demand for wool, lamb, fruits, and vegetables, while Chechnya could benefit from construction materials, dairy, and meat products. Together, we can identify promising goods for export to Belarus and third countries,” the BUCE representative said.

Adam Saparbiev, Head of the Chechen Republic’s export support center, expressed strong support for collaboration with the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange, noting that Chechnya’s industrial sector, particularly pipe and industrial boiler manufacturing, is gaining momentum alongside its agricultural exports.

“Chechnya is actively improving conditions for exporters, including preferential lending, expanded partnerships, and new business development incentives. Belarus is of particular interest to our entrepreneurs due to convenient payment mechanisms and favorable logistics. BUCE’s platform could serve as a gateway for accessing new markets, making this partnership a valuable tool for promoting Chechen exports,” Adam Saparbiev emphasized.

The parties agreed to outline concrete steps for deepening cooperation in the near future. BUCE has already been invited to participate in an international business forum to be organized by the export support center in Grozny in October 2025.

Founded in 2004, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange conducted its first trading session in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises with export and foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. BUCE sells a wide range of metal, forestry and agricultural products, industrial and consumer goods.
