MINSK, 4 February (BelTA) – The quality management and information security systems of the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange (BUCE) have been certified for compliance with the ISO 9001 and ISO 27001 standards after an audit conducted by the international certification body TÜV Thüringen, Germany, BelTA learned from BUCE's press service.
Specialists of TÜV Thüringen hailed the high level of organization of internal business processes and BUCE's considerable effort into implementing customer-focused policy and ensuring proper quality of services. Attention was given to BUCE's efforts to create a comprehensive system of data and confidential information protection. “BUCE became one of few Belarusian organizations to have a certified information security system compliant with the ISO 27001 standard. Most of such organizations are big financial companies or IT corporations. The procedure to get the ISO 27001 certificate is one of the most complex ones, which is why only eleven Belarusian companies received our certificate in the past,” representatives of TÜV Thüringen said.
Apart from adding to BUCE's positive image and reputation, the ISO certificates will help BUCE attract more foreign companies to its platform. “Compliance with ISO standards in quality management and information security will make exchange trading more attractive for businesses. This primarily concerns foreign companies, because entering a new market presents certain risks. This is why BUCE's ISO certificates will become an additional incentive to promote exchange trading as a safe and reliable way for interaction with Belarusian partners,” BUCE's press service noted.
Founded in 2004, the Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange conducted its first trading session in June 2005. BUCE is one of the largest commodity exchanges in Eastern Europe. Its main function is to assist Belarusian enterprises with export and foreign companies with entering the Belarusian market. BUCE sells a wide range of metal, forestry, and agricultural products, industrial and consumer goods.
