Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry calls for strong business ties amid modern challenges

MINSK, 9 September (BelTA) – It is important to build reliable manufacturing cooperation ties amid modern challenges. Director General of the Minsk branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergei Nabeshko made the statement during an international forum on economic cooperation timed to the 955th anniversary of Minsk, BelTA has learned.

Sergei Nabeshko said: “Nowadays every economic forum takes place bearing in mind external changes and external challenges. It is obvious that regretfully sanctions and the resulting processes are the headliner of today's forum. Logistic, financial, and manufacturing cooperation chains are being disrupted. Problems with maintaining the established mutual relations are being encountered. On the other hand, the situation gives a stimulus towards an active response to these challenges.”

The official stressed that the importance of decisions that had been made to localize manufacturing and ensure its self-sufficiency is becoming obvious today. “The private sector should be focused on its own capabilities as much as possible. Today it is insufficient to simply buy or sell stuff. It is important to establish reliable manufacturing cooperation ties with primarily import substitution in mind. The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is doing its utmost to assist the private sector with it,” Sergei Nabeshko noted.

The international forum on economic cooperation is taking place in the National Library of Belarus today. It is timed to the 955th anniversary of the Belarusian capital city. An exhibition of Minsk's industrial sector has been opened outside the library, too. It features products made by MTZ, MAZ, Amkodor, and Belkommunmash.
