MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) - Belarusian Cement Company is interested in increasing coal supplies from Russia’s Khakassia, BelTA learned from the company.
During the visit of a delegation of Belarusian Cement Company to the Siberian Federal District of the Russian Federation, the parties reached an agreement on the rhythmic supply of coal for Belarusian cement plants. The leadership of the Republic of Khakassia will monitor this issue. Director General of Belarusian Cement Company Aleksandr Dovgalo met with Minister of Economic Development of the Republic of Khakassia Roman Kovtun.
Belarusian Cement Company is already working with coal mines in Khakassia, but is interested in increasing the supply of coal from this region. "The negotiations resulted in an agreement on the prompt adoption of measures to load about four trains weekly in the period from November 2024 to January 2025. This will provide Belarusian cement plants with coal in the required amount," the company noted.
Roman Kovtun assured the Belarusian party that the Republic of Khakassia will assist in establishing direct contacts with the coal mining enterprises of the Kirbinsky and Mayrykhsky open-pit mines, in increasing the supply of coal and reducing the delivery time.
Belarusian Cement Company is interested in the supply of other minerals for Belarusian cement plants from the Russian region, including iron ore. Roman Kovtun suggested that Belarusian Cement Company consider the possibility of extracting gypsum in the quarries of Khakassia.
