MINSK, 16 January (BelTA) – In 2023 enterprises of the holding company Belarusian Cement Company made over 5 million tonnes of cement, thus securing a new record high of the national cement industry, BelTA has learned.
In 2023 cement output exceeded pre-COVID-19 levels, with the output growth rate reaching 110.7% as against 2017 and 105.8% as against 2019. As much as 4.519 million tonnes of cement was made in 2018 and 4.728 million tonnes was made in 2019.
Three cement plants make cement in Belarus. Those are OAO Belarusian Cement Plant in Kostyukovichi, OAO Krichevtsementnoshifer in Krichev, and OAO Krasnoselskstroymaterialy in Krasnoselsky. Belarusian Cement Plant was the top producer last year and made 2.002 million tonnes of cement.
More than half of the cement Belarusian Cement Plant and Krichevtsementnoshifer make is shipped to Russia. In 2023 these enterprises exported 1.323 million tonnes and 951,000 tonnes of cement respectively. Krasnoselskstroymaterialy focuses on the home market and sells over 97% of the cement it makes domestically.
