MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian car manufacturer BelGee has released about 300,000 cars since the launch of production, BelGee Director General Gennady Svidersky told the media on the sidelines of the second business conference “Industrial Complex of Belarus: Export, Import Independence, Effective Management” in Minsk on 20 May, BelTA has learned.
The BelGee plant was put into operation in 2018. “Since then we have produced, together with Chinese Geely Corporation, about 300,000 cars. Of them almost 100,000 cars have been sold in our country,” Gennady Svidersky said. “This is a plant of the 21st century, incorporating the principles of automated production management system, quality management. Seeing such examples, I think it would be advisable to scale this experience up within the machine-building complex in our country. The experience of working with Chinese colleagues is very useful. This applies not only to technical means, but also to the organizational system, such as 5S that embraces moral incentives, financial incentives and technical equipment."
Gennady Svidersky believes that the passenger car industry starts with education, science, design centers. “We are now working in partnership with the United Institute of Mechanical Engineering,” he noted. “Until we have our own design centers, which can develop our own product on the basis of existing models, we will not be able to take a worthy place in the market, especially in a foreign market.”
