MINSK, 20 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian Business Forum titled “On the role and place of private business in the country’s socioeconomic development in 2026-2030” is underway in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
The forum’s primary goal is to identify effective vectors for collaboration between the state, society, and business within current geopolitical realities. It aims to analyze medium-term prospects for entrepreneurship, discuss key challenges in private sector development, and pinpoint potential reserves for Belarus’ economic growth.
During the forum, representatives of business unions emphasized that the non-governmental sector and private companies must work in concert with state-owned enterprises under government coordination to ensure effective socioeconomic development in the next five-year period. Private businesses expressed interest in more active participation in the discussion of regulatory acts.
The business unions conveyed their readiness to transition from a fragmented dialogue with government agencies to a full-fledged partnership, focusing on the implementation of major programs that yield tangible economic and social benefits and enhance the overall image of entrepreneurship.
A key focus was the development of small and medium-sized businesses, whose numbers are growing in Belarus. Topics of concern for entrepreneurs included support for small and regional businesses, government price regulation, and digitalization.
The forum is co-organized by several major business associations: the Kunyavsky Belarusian Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers, the Minsk Union of Entrepreneurs and Employers, the National Business Association BSP-Prom, the National Association of Industrial Enterprises BelAPP, the National Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurship.
