Belarusian Bellesbumprom's export to Russia up 1.5 times in January-May

MINSK, 2 July (BelTA) – In January-May 2021, companies affiliated with the Belarusian timber, woodworking, pulp and paper industry concern Bellesbumprom increased export to Russia more than 1.5 times year-on-year, BelTA learned from Bellesbumprom's press service.

“The Russian market has always been one of the key export markets for Bellesbumprom's companies. Trade and economic cooperation between the Belarusian companies and Russian partners has developed dynamically, which is demonstrated by the rapid growth in export of Belarusian woodworking products to Russia,” the press service stressed.

In January-May 2021, export of companies affiliated with Bellesbumprom soared by more than 1.5 times over the same period of last year. They supplied over $100 million worth of products to Russian regions, which accounted for a third of Bellesbumprom's total export in this period.

Bellesbumprom's companies deliver their products to 64 regions of Russia, including both geographically close regions (the city of Moscow, Moscow Oblast, Smolensk Oblast, Bryansk Oblast) and distant ones, for example, Khabarovsk Krai and Yakutia.

Bellesbumprom's top export markets among Russian regions are Moscow Oblast (with export at $12.6 million), the Republic of Karelia ($10.6 million), the city of Moscow ($9.7 million), Kaluga Oblast ($6.1 million) and Krasnodar Krai ($5.5 million).

Bellesbumprom's major exports to Russia are furniture (over 30% of the total), wood boards (chipboards and medium-density fiberboards – about 30%), paper and cardboard (20.3%), and pulp (17.6%). The companies affiliated with the concern also supply to Russia plywood, wallpaper, matches, sawn timber, various containers, products of the forest chemical industry, and other products of the woodworking and pulp-and-paper industry.
