MINSK, 6 July (BelTA) – Export by enterprises belonging to the Belarusian state light industry concern Bellegprom increased by 23.2% in January-May 2021 to $176 million, the concern's press service told BelTA.
In January-May 2021 Bellegprom enterprises made $271 million worth of merchandise or 104.5% as against the same period of last year. The top products were carpets and carpet goods (150.3%), knitted goods (103.4%), corsetry (145.1%), and hosiery (109.3%). Export totaled $176 million or 123.2% as against January-May 2020. Over 65% of the output was exported. The goods were exported to 50 countries across the globe.
Bellegprom's export to Italy rose by 3.6 times, to the USA by more than two times. Bellegprom enterprises shipped more to Russia (the export growth rate reached 123%), Ukraine (119.3%), Lithuania (163%), Kazakhstan (108.8%), Эстонию (196.5%), Belgium (128.6%), Kyrgyzstan (184.4%), and Netherlands (100.2%). Bellegprom enterprises exported more to a total of 41 countries.
In physical terms Bellegprom increased the export of linen fabric by $6.1 million, corsetry by $4.9 million, carpets by $7.5 million, hosiery by $2.3 million, and footwear by $1.3 million.
The foreign trade surplus totaled $81.5 million. Earnings and profits from sales rose by 1.2 times. Net profit rose by 4.2 times. The profit margin rose by 0.7 percentage points and reached 9.9%.
Labor productivity growth exceeded monthly salary growth by 11%.
73 organizations belong to the Belarusian state light industry concern Bellegprom, including 59 industrial enterprises. The industrial enterprises are subdivided into textile industry, sewing industry, knitted goods industry, and leather and footwear industry.
