Belarusian Belgospishcheprom plans to expand its export portfolio in Middle East region

MINSK, 5 August (BelTA) - The enterprises affiliated with the Belarusian state food industry concern Belgospishcheprom are planning to expand the export portfolio in the Middle East region. This item was on the agenda of a meeting with Chairman of the Kimberley Process Ahmed Bin Sulayem in the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry hosted, BelTA learned from the press service of Belgospishcheprom. 

"During meeting, we went beyond the declared areas of interest," Aleksandr Yakovchits, deputy chairman of Belgospishcheprom, told the media. “For example, we discussed the export interest of the concern's enterprises in the Middle East region. Our organizations supply products to Israel, Bahrain, Iraq, Lebanon, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Turkey. We understand that we can expand the already established export portfolio." 

During the meeting the parties identified an interest to cooperate in meat and other food supplies from Belarus to the Middle East and deliveries of tea and coffee from the United Arab Emirates to Belarus, the Agriculture and Food Ministry added.

The Kimberley Process (KP) is an international, multi-stakeholder trade regime created in 2003 to eliminate trade in conflict diamonds.
