MINSK, 23 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ has shipped a wheeled bulldozer and haul trucks with the carrying capacity of 130 tonnes to the Central GOK division of Metinvest Group, Krivoi Rog, Ukraine, the BelAZ press service told BelTA.
During the ceremony held to present keys to drivers of the new vehicles Central GOK Director Dmitry Shevchik said: “Modern mining vehicles always help with production. They increase effectiveness and performance, particularly when driven by our professionals. Besides, the new models are convenient to use and comfortable for our drivers. Central GOK is always intent on improving labor conditions for our large team.”
Together with the new vehicles Central GOK now uses 42 BelAZ trucks of the same class of the carrying capacity.
The BelAZ 78231 bulldozer with a 4x4 wheel arrangement will help Central GOK miners clear up service roads and mine faces. Its blade is nearly five meters wide. With a 490hp six-cylinder engine the bulldozer can travel at speeds of up to 25kmph. The vehicle is simply irreplaceable in an iron ore mining operation. Besides, a wheeled bulldozer has a smaller impact on the roadway than tracked bulldozers.
The BelAZ press service noted that 130 tonne BelAZ 7513 trucks are classic vehicles for iron ore mines in the Krivoi Rog iron ore producing area. These modern haul trucks are perfectly designed for 24/7 work on service roads in the mines. The dynamic brake can handle increased load. The wheels are protected against slipping and skidding. Reliable and safe to operate, the trucks demonstrate high performance and moderate fuel consumption.
It is comfortable and safe to drive a 130-tonne BelAZ truck. The driver's cab of a BelAZ 75131 is fitted with cameras to allow the driver to watch blind areas. The cab is also fitted with modern climate systems, good sound and dust insulation. For a better view the driver's cab boasts a high position and panoramic windows. The operator's workstation is protected from dust, noise, and vibration. The seat boasts air suspension and can be adjusted in a broad range.
Metinvest's Central GOK is one of Ukraine's top five producers of iron ore. It specializes in mining, processing, and making raw materials for the metallurgical industry – iron ore concentrate and iron nuggets.
