MINSK, 19 March (BelTA) – BelAZ's participation in projects designed to develop manufacturing cooperation and import substitution within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) was discussed as Member of the Board (Minister) for Industry and Agribusiness Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission Artak Kamalyan visited the Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ on 19 March, BelTA has learned.

Components imported from Russia account for about 40-50% of the foreign components BelAZ imports in cost terms.

It was stressed during the meeting that opportunities for cooperation are far from exhausted, their potential is huge. BelAZ actively builds up manufacturing capabilities and is ready for tight cooperation with companies from other Eurasian Economic Union member states. Member of the Board (Minister) for Industry and Agribusiness Complex of the Eurasian Economic Commission Artak Kamalyan noted: “In 2021 our attention will be focused on advancing cooperation in high-tech industries. Unmanned driving technologies are a promising direction of industrial cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union. BelAZ is a pioneer in this field.”
