MINSK, 29 February (BelTA) – The 3,500th haul truck with the carrying capacity of 55 tonnes rolled off the assembly line of the Belarusian automobile engineering company BelAZ on 29 February, BelTA has learned.
Haul trucks with this carrying capacity represent one of the most popular types of trucks on the market of mining vehicles. in 2023 55-tonne BelAZ trucks were among top 3 products in terms of the volume of sales: the company shipped over 100 trucks like that to customers.
At present about 2,000 BelAZ trucks with the carrying capacity of 55 tonnes are used across the world nowadays. They transport mineral resources in Uzbekistan, the Philippines, Estonia, Algeria, and Kazakhstan.
The first BelAZ-7555 truck was assembled in 1994. It means the company can celebrate another anniversary: exactly 30 years of valuable experience of creating 55-tonne haul trucks, the press service noted.
Haul trucks of the BelAZ-7555 series boast a number of innovative solutions. The new models are fitted with multi-disc oil-cooled brakes, a reinforced drive rear axle with a service life of at least 40,000 motor hours, a large number of electronic components in the control, diagnostic and safety systems.
“We boldly look into the future. This year we intend to make a 55-tonne haul truck with a planetary-type hydromechanical gearbox, which, we are confident, will further expand our order portfolio and allow us to double the output of such vehicles,” BelAZ Deputy Director General, Technical Director Sergei Lesin stressed.

BelAZ is the world’s largest manufacturer of haul trucks and transport equipment for the mining industry and the civil engineering industry. BelAZ occupies about 30% of the world market of haul trucks with an extremely large carrying capacity. The company makes the world’s largest haul truck with the carrying capacity of 450 tonnes.
