MINSK, 27 October (BelTA) – Belarusian air carrier Belavia has confirmed its compliance with the IATA safety standards, BelTA learned from the press service of the company.
Belavia was audited by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). “Following the thorough four-month analysis of the data obtained during the audit, the IATA took a decision to renew the IOSA certificate for Belavia until 2 November 2023. The certificate confirms that the airline adheres to the advanced international aviation standards in the field of operational safety," the press service stressed.
Belavia was first audited by the International Air Transport Association in 2007. In accordance with the rules, a certificate is mandatory for all IATA members. Recertification is carried out every two years and is a condition for the membership in the international association.
“Belavia's certificate has been renewed for the eighth time, which reaffirms the company's compliance with the highest standards of operational safety. The airline is committed to observing the IOSA standards and continuous improvement of its management systems, flight safety management and aviation security,” the press service said.
IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit) is an airline operational safety audit program developed by the International Air Transport Association. It is designed to evaluate the operational management and control systems of air carriers. The IOSA Standards Manual includes about 1,000 requirements that airlines must meet during an audit.
