Belarusian automaker MAZ presents new products at Belagro 2020

MINSK, 30 September (BelTA) – The Belarusian automobile engineering company MAZ presented a number of new products at the international agriculture expo Belagro, which is taking place in the Indoor Football Arena in Minsk on 29 September – 5 October, BelTA has learned.

Dump trucks

The dump truck MAZ-65012J has been designed to accommodate needs of farmers, including grain carrying. It is built around an engine made by the Chinese company Weichai Power. MAZ and the Chinese company previously established an enterprise to assemble engines in the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone. The grain carrier has a side unloading capability.

With the total weight at 25 tonnes, the grain carrier can transport up to 12.7 tonnes of grain, 0.7 tonnes more than the next competitor. The capability can reduce the cost of transportation and make runs more effective. The company has also reduced the price for the new product by using a cheaper engine, which is still as powerful. The vehicle is sturdy and requires low maintenance. It can handle all kinds of road surface as well as low air temperatures.

Representatives of Russia's Omsk Oblast visited the expo and showed their interest in MAZ's grain carrier. They have already discussed delivery terms with the Belarusian company.

MAZ also presented the dump truck MAZ-6501S9 at the expo. Although it is designed to carry construction cargoes and bulk cargo, it can be used to transport agricultural products. The driver's cab has been redesigned and now has more convenient seats and a smarter dashboard.

Microbuses and a mobile office

MAZ presented a total of about 10 vehicles at Belagro 2020, including the multi-lift truck MAZ-6950S5-110400. The vehicle can load and unload special interchangeable cargo bodies, containers, flatbeds, and other structures. The cargo body's volume is 34m3. A mechanism is available for changing the cargo body.

MAZ also presented some microbuses, including one for prompt aftersales service. The mobile repair workshop Kupava 233150 is designed bearing in mind needs of repair crews. The vehicle is assembled by OAO Brestmash, a Brest-based branch of MAZ.

MAZ also presented a Kupava mobile office, which is designed to host negotiations and transport executives. It has everything necessary for organizing a conference or negotiations away from a stationary office.

An electric truck

The 23rd international manufacturing sector technology and innovations expo TechInnoProm is taking place in the Indoor Football Arena these days as well. During this expo MAZ presented the electric truck MAZ-4381E0. Its total weight is 12.5 tonnes and the carrying capacity is 5.7 tonnes. The electric truck can cross the city of Minsk twice without recharging. The maximum speed is tuned to urban conditions – 85kmph.

The truck uses a 70kW asynchronous traction motor with liquid cooling as well as a two-step gear system with electronic gearshift. The driving distance is 100km but it is not the limit. Everything depends on the number of batteries and MAZ is ready to install as many batteries into the truck as the customer needs. Batteries use lithium cells with the storage capacity of 160Ah. The operating voltage is 570V. A direct current port GB/T is used to charge the vehicle.

The driver's cab is designed for three people and boasts convenient seats, central locking, electric windows and electric door mirrors as well as a number of other features.

Making electric vehicles is one of the ways for the company to grow in the period till 2030, MAZ representatives noted. The electric truck has been designed with focus on freight transportation in urban areas. It is virtually silent, has a low environmental impact, and an excellent value for money. It will have to go through a series of trials before commercial production can begin. It is a great step forward for the Belarusian automobile engineering industry, MAZ representatives stressed.
