MOSCOW, 13 August (BelTA) – Belarusian Ambassador to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik visited Belgorod Oblast and held talks with Governor of Belgorod Oblast Vyacheslav Gladkov, BelTA has learned from the diplomatic mission’s press service.
The parties discussed cooperation in industry, agriculture, humanitarian domain, housing and public utilities, construction, and passenger vehicle supplies. Prospects for supplies of Belarusian utility vehicles were also touched upon during the talks. "Appropriate instructions were issued following the meeting. The agencies and enterprises of Belarus and Belgorod Oblast have already started working on them,” the press service said.
"It was my duty to come to visit you. Let me express my support to you and extend deepest condolences to the victims. We feel the pain of Belgorod people. We are ready to provide all possible assistance to the residents of the region. We are always there for you," Ambassador Aleksandr Rogozhnik said at the meeting.
During his trip to the Russian region, the ambassador toured OOO Belenergomash - BZEM. This company is one of the leading Russian power engineering companies, a supplier of integrated solutions for nuclear and thermal power engineering, gas and petrochemical industry, industrial and civil construction. Belenergomash supplied products for all Russian-made nuclear power plants, including Belarusian NPP. Belarusian equipment and pipe rolled products of Belarusian Steel Works are widely used at the plant. "Prospects for supplying the enterprise with modern alloys of Belarusian Steel Works, the localization of steel structures production for the future construction of the second NPP in Belarus were discussed with the company's senior executives," the press service added.
Aleksandr Rogozhnik laid flowers at the eternal flame at the Grieving Mother memorial complex in honor of the Soviet soldiers who died in the liberation of Belgorod from Nazi invaders, and paid tribute to the memory of those killed by shelling in Belgorod near the Heart art object. He also visited the apartment building on Shchorsa Street in Belgorod, damaged by a missile hit.
