Belarusian ambassador to Russia meets with Uzbek ambassador

MOSCOW, 23 August (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Aleksandr Rogozhnik met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Russia Botirjon Asadov, the press service of the Belarusian embassy told BelTA.

The parties discussed topical matters of bilateral cooperation. The traditionally friendly nature of relations between Minsk and Tashkent was emphasized. Aleksandr Rogozhnik drew attention to the fulfillment of agreements reached as a result of an official visit of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko to Uzbekistan in February 2024. Primarily agreements in the manufacturing sector. In particular, the importance was stressed of starting the joint assembly of tractors in Uzbekistan and the production of engine parts.

Aleksandr Rogozhnik stressed that the operation of a Belarusian multibrand center in Uzbekistan for selling machines, vehicles, and equipment has a positive effect on the export of industrial goods. High-tech manufacturing, microelectronics, shipments of foodstuffs, interregional and humanitarian cooperation were mentioned among other promising areas of interaction, the Belarusian embassy added.
