MINSK, 27 November (BelTA) - The negotiations with representatives of Algeria’s authorities and companies took place as part of a working visit by a Belarusian delegation led by Kirill Glushchenko, First Deputy Head of the Department for Veterinary and Food Supervision at the Agriculture and Food Ministry, BelTA learned from the press service of the Agriculture and Food Ministry of Belarus.
During a meeting with the veterinary department of Algeria's Ministry of Agriculture, the parties signed a sanitary certificate that grants Belarusian-produced dry baby food access to the Algerian market. The prospects for expanding the export range were also discussed: the Algerian side expressed interest in importing Belarusian fish feed and will shortly send a draft of the corresponding sanitary certificate to the Belarusian side for approval.
Furthermore, negotiations were held with a major Algerian dairy company, with an agreement reached to sign a memorandum of cooperation. The document envisages the supply of dry baby food in 25kg packaging, with the subsequent localization of its production in Algeria.
“This cooperation can become a new step in developing mutually beneficial trade relations between the two countries in food security,” the press service noted.
