Belarus willing to help Russia’s North Ossetia create EV charging infrastructure

MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) - Belarus is willing to assist North Ossetia in creating its own electric vehicles charging infrastructure, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich said during a meeting with a delegation of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania of Russia, BelTA learned.

The cooperation with Russian regions is the foundation of economic interaction between Belarus and Russia, Viktor Karankevich noted. “I am convinced that this visit that envisages a number of meetings, negotiations and visits to Belarus' major industrial enterprises, will give an additional impetus to the development of relations between us,” he addressed Sergei Menyailo, Head of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania.
Viktor Karankevich also outlined existing and promising areas of cooperation, in particular, the manufacturing industry. “Belarusian enterprises are ready to meet the region's demand for passenger, cargo and utility vehicles, road-construction machines and quarry equipment and provide them with high-quality warranty and service support, on-site repair,” he stated.

According to Viktor Karankevich, Belarus is ready to help with the development of EV charging infrastructure if North Ossetia decides to purchase electric passenger vehicles. “Belarus has the necessary expertise as it has been successfully manufacturing and operating its own charging networks for over five years,” he pointed out.
