MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) - Belarus and Vietnam plan to expand their cooperation in agriculture, BelTA learned from the government's press service.
Belarus' government delegation led by Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Sivak is on a working visit to Vietnam.
The delegation took part in a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation in Hanoi on 1 April. The parties discussed current and future priority projects. The assembly of MAZ vehicles has already been organized in Vietnam. However, the parties are aiming for more: they are discussing joint assembly of Belarusian tractors. A site has already been chosen, and several models for the local and neighboring markets are being developed. A trial batch is planned for release soon.
Belarus is also increasing its food exports to Vietnam. Dairy products have been certified, the necessary procedures for beef exports are on the home stretch. As a result, about 20 domestic enterprises will gain access to the Vietnamese market.
