Belarus-Uzbekistan trade in agricultural products on the rise

MINSK, 14 October (BelTA) – Belarus' Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo has held talks with Charge d'Affaires of Uzbekistan in Belarus Rakhmatulla Nazarov, BelTA learned from the press service of the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

The meeting focused on bilateral trade in agricultural products. The trade is currently on the rise, both exports and imports. This is the result of productive joint work at the ministerial level and between businesses.

In January-August 2022, the trade in food products and agricultural raw materials between Belarus and Uzbekistan grew by 68.1% and the export rose by 63.4% year-on-year.

Belarus' major agricultural exports to Uzbekistan were meat products (82.2%), dairy products (11.5%), and baby food (2%). Supplies of these commodities increased by 65.9% year-on-year. The export of baby food rose 2.4 times.
