MINSK, 27 October (BelTA) – The export of trucking services increased by nearly 27% in January-August 2021, BelTA learned from Andrei Gladky, Head of the Automobile and Urban Passenger Transport Office of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry, at a press conference on 27 October.
According to the source, the export of trucking services went up by 26.7% in comparison with the same period of last year to about $1.15 billion. The dynamics is very good, the official said.
The tasks the Transport and Communications Ministry intends to accomplish in the sphere of international transportation were also mentioned. “Every year we enable conditions for renewing the rolling stock. Presidential decrees are passed every year to exempt Euro-6 category vehicles, which are imported into Belarus' territory, from the recycling tax and the value added tax,” he mentioned.
Apart from that, in the near future the Transport and Communications Ministry intends to implement a pilot project to develop digital transport document forms, including digital CMR documents. It will greatly reduce costs of shipping companies in addition to reducing delivery times, the official explained.
Digital technologies also look promising. Andrei Gladky mentioned various systems for paying passenger fares. Transport organizations introduce the systems in every region. For instance, today passengers can use at least three systems to pay for ground transport in Minsk.
