Belarus’ trade surplus at $98.5m in January 2024

MINSK, 11 March (BelTA) - In January 2024 the surplus of Belarus’ foreign trade in goods and services amounted to $98.5 million. Meanwhile, Belarus’ foreign trade rose by 0.4% from January 2023 to exceed $7.2 billion, BelTA learned from the website of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).

In January 2024 Belarus had a deficit of the foreign trade in merchandise as large as $125 million. In January 2024 merchandise import totaled $3.2 billion, with export at $3 billion.

The deficit of Belarus’ foreign trade in merchandise was offset by a surplus of foreign trade in services as large as $223.5 million in January 2024. Belarus exported $0.6 billion and imported $0.4 billion worth of services in January 2024.
