Belarus to showcase its tech prowess at Tech Industry in Riga

MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – Belarus will present a national exposition at the international trade fair for mechanical engineering, metalworking, automation, electronics, electrical engineering, industrial supplies, tools and innovated technology Tech Industry 2019 that will take place in the Kipsala International Exhibition Center in Riga, Latvia on 28 - 30 November, BelTA learned from the National Marketing Center of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Belarusian manufacturers will take part in this expo for the third time. This year the Belarusian exposition will feature companies and organizations of the Industry Ministry, Education Ministry, the State Committee on Science and Technology, the National Academy of Sciences, and Belneftekhim Concern.

A Belarus-Latvia business forum will take place on the sidelines of the expo on 29 November. The program of the business forum includes presentations of export potential of Belarus and the participating companies and B2B meetings with Latvian business people.

The national exposition at Tech Industry will be traditionally arranged by the National Marketing Center of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the support of the Belarusian Embassy in Latvia.

Tech Industry is the largest industry expo not only in the Baltic Sea states, but also in Western and Eastern Europe, the CIS and other regions. The trade fair offers 16,000 m² of total exhibition area. The expo will bring together more than 270 businesses from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Austria, Germany, Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, Finland, Sweden and other countries.

Latvia is traditionally one of Belarus' most important trading partners and investors, and is also the largest transit corridor for Belarusian exports to third countries. Belarus' exports to Latvia in 2018 increased by 39% and amounted to more than $485 million. The export is dominated by products of the chemical and food industries, engineering, metallurgy, woodworking, etc.
