MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) - The first prototype of the Belarusian electric car will be presented in December 2024, BelGee Director General Gennady Svidersky said in an interview to STV TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“As part of the head of state’s instruction, the Academy of Sciences is working on the basis of the already well-known car X50 to develop a pilot batch of electric cars. That means the X50 modification will be on electric traction. Two goals are pursued here, which are to bring modern electric cars to the market and to study more deeply the passenger car,” Gennady Svidersky said.

According to the director general, plans are in place to soon launch the testing of domestic electric car prototypes. “We are going to produce this batch and test it in January. Then decisions will be taken on technical and commercial conclusions for possible serial manufacture,” he added.
