MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation was on a visit to China on 9-11 April to discuss supplies of Belarusian lumber to the Chinese market, BelTA learned from Belarus' General Consulate in Shanghai.
The delegation was led by Deputy Forestry Minister Vladimir Krech. He held a presentation of Belarus' forestry industry in the general consulate and on Shanghai's leading platforms trading in lumber and wood products, in the ports of Taicang and Changzhou in Jiangsu Province. The parties discussed supplies of Belarusian lumber to China by container trains using the Silk Road economic belt route.
Following the talks, Bellesexport and China's BRAVE LEAF (HONG KONG) Ltd. signed a protocol of intent to supply 120,000 cubic meters of lumber to China. Apart from that, an arrangement was reached with China's SHANGHAI RICELAND to supply a trial batch of Belarusian lumber to the amount of ten containers. Taking part in the talks were Belarus' General Consul in Shanghai Valery Matsel and Consul Maksim Iosko.
