Belarus to expand trade, economic relations with Israel

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – Trade and economic relations between Belarus and Israel have been vibrant over the past three years, Evgeny Vorobyov, who was appointed Belarus' Ambassador to Israel on 12 September, told the media, BelTA has learned.

In his words, bilateral trade reached $162 million last year. “We have made great headway in the services sector. We both sell our goods to Israel and provide our services. There are good prospects for cooperation in tourism,” the diplomat said.

Evgeny Vorobyov stressed that building trade and economic relations with Israel is not an easy process, especially taking into account the country's well-established contacts with the United States and the European states, which makes it more difficult to win the market.

The ambassador expressed the intention to build up Belarus-Israel trade. He is confident in good prospects for bilateral relations.
