MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) – Belarusian forestries have earned more than $120 million from the export of wood and timber products since the start of 2020, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Forestry Ministry.
“Products of Belarusian forestries are becoming increasingly popular on foreign markets. Since the start of 2020 foreign buyers have purchased wood and timber products worth more than $120 million. This is $10 million up from the same period last year,” the ministry said.
Sawn wood accounts for more than 66% of the total export. Wood chip, technological rawwood and pellets are also in demand abroad.
In 2020, organizations affiliated with the Forestry Ministry have sold goods and services to more than 30 countries. The main trading partners are Lithuania, Poland, Latvia, Romania, Germany, and China.
