Belarus taking part in Kenya International Trade Exhibition

MINSK, 9 June (BelTA) – The national exposition of Belarus opened at the Kenya International Trade Exhibition, the country's biggest showcase event, BelTA learned from the Belinterexpo exhibition enterprise of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI).

The national exposition of Belarus is on display at the 23rd edition of the Kenya International Trade Exhibition that is running in Nairobi on 9-11 June. Belarus' exposition features a dozen domestic companies producing foodstuffs and pharmaceuticals.

Taking part in the opening of the national exposition were Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Kenya Pavel Vzyatkin, Head of the Department for Coordination of Product Supplies to the Domestic Market and Foreign Economic Activities of Belgospishcheprom Concern Igor Grutso and Regional Marketing Director at Expogroup Duncan Njage.

Duncan Njage thanked Belarus for taking part in the exhibition and pointed to the great potential in expanding trade and economic contacts between Belarus and Kenya. He expressed confidence that participation in the exhibition would result in new contacts and agreements with Kenyan business people. The pavilion of Belarus was also visited by Dr Mercy M. Mwangangi, Chief Administrative Secretary at the Ministry of Health of Kenya.

The Belarusian exposition features companies affiliated with Belgospishcheprom Concern, including Minsk Margarine Plant, Minsk Kristall, Brest Distillery Belalko, Klimovichi Distillery, Belsolod, as well as the Belmedpreparaty pharmaceutical company. A number of companies present their products in absentia. These are confectionery factories Kommunarka, Krasny Pischevik, Slodych, Krinitsa, Lida Food Concentrates and Mashpischeprod.

Belarus has the status of an official partner of the exhibition. The exposition was organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the support and participation of the Belarusian Embassy in the Republic of Kenya and the Belinterexpo exhibition enterprise of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
